Ghee is clarified butter in simple terms.
In the process of clarification most, if not all, of the lactose is removed, leaving only the healthy fats of the butter.
Ghee originates in Ancient India and is used in cooking & Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine. It is known to have many healing properties, and is a healthy alternative to regular butter.
It has a soft taste & a creamy spreadable consistency. You can add it to hot drinks, use it in pastry preparations or in any savoury recipes. Perfect to dissolve into soups and risottos.
